On a miserable ,wet and cold afternoon Hawkley won the toss and put a strong opposition in to bat.
Some decent opening bowling by sam and young peter kept Hawkley on top for the fist half of the innings. at 20 overs Ship Shop were 85 for 1.
Unfortunately the pressure could not be maintained and despite sam taking a great catch in the deep Ship Shop opened their shoulders and posted a very strong total of 272 off the 40 overs. Hawkley missed a few chances, Limpet obviously not being named for sticking to the ball!!!
After tea Hawkley the Hawkley openers started positively but both were out without progressing on to the large innings that was now required.
Some good bowling and fielding by the opposition continued the decline and the game was finished in the now heavy rain with Hawkley being bowled out for just over 100 runs.
All in all an unsatisfying afternoon of cricket.
